About the Role:
We are proud to partner with a top-tier P&C Insurance carrier seeking a Regional Underwriting Manager to lead their Primary Construction team in Atlanta. This leadership position offers the opportunity to oversee underwriting operations, drive business development, and contribute to the profitable growth of a key division. Reporting to the AVP of Construction Underwriting, you'll manage a high-performing team and play a pivotal role in shaping regional strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Regional Growth: Drive the growth and profitability of the Primary Construction book of business, achieving budgeted production and financial targets.
Broker Relationships: Build and strengthen relationships with key construction brokers across the region to expand business opportunities.
Pipeline Development: Maintain a robust pipeline of high-quality prospects and ensure a steady flow of target opportunities.
Collaboration: Work closely with leaders from other product lines to identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities.
Team Leadership: Foster an engaging team culture, mentor underwriting staff, and support their professional development.
Strategy Implementation: Contribute to the creation and execution of underwriting strategies aligned with company objectives.
Performance Monitoring: Analyze claim activity and profitability trends, making proactive adjustments to maintain operational success.
Reporting: Provide accurate forecasts and production reports to regional and corporate leadership.
What We're Looking For:
Experience: Minimum of 7 years in Primary Construction underwriting, with additional experience in project/wraps preferred.
Leadership Skills: Prior management experience is a strong advantage, with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
Broker Relationships: Established connections with construction brokers in the assigned territory.
Sales Expertise: Proven ability to drive business development and sales in a competitive marketplace.
Education: A bachelor's degree is required.
Skills: Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
