Job Description:

Earth Lab Holdings, the parent company of Earth Lab Botanicals, Wise Woman Herbals, and Superior Labs Supplements, is seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-focused professional to manage the financial operations of our multi-brand organization. The company employs over 30 people, and current revenue is in the $7M range, with significant and strategic growth planned in the coming years.

Position Summary: Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer is a critical leader for the Company's financial operations, including financial strategy, analysis, and planning, as well as the hands-on oversight of all activities of the finance division.

Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership & Reporting
  • Provide expert guidance on accounting systems, financial reporting and analysis in accordance with GAAP, while overseeing manufacturing and retail accounting, tax implications, regulatory compliance, and all accounting-related functions for the company.
  • Fully own, prepare and present consolidated financial statements and reports to the CEO and Board of Directors monthly.
  • Provide professional insights into financial performance, optimizing profit margins, highlighting key trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop an Annual Operating Plan (AOP) Budget and conduct insightful forecasting of future scenarios, analyzing the optimal direction for the company over a 3-5-year horizon.

Team Management
  • Engaging management of an Accounting Team, including a Staff Accountant (handling AP, payroll, and HR), and a Cost Accountant (managing AR and inventory costing)
  • Oversee the company's Information Technology, which includes a Systems Administrator.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture, ensuring KPIs, deadlines and accuracy are consistently met.

Operational Oversight
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations, including COGS and inventory valuation, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Supervise payroll processing and ensure accuracy in administrative HR functions.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers.
  • Provide leadership regarding ERP/CRM implementation and ongoing use, and leveraging functionality that is value added to the company's operations.

Third-Party Vendor Management
  • Serve as the primary contact for financial service providers, including insurance companies, banks, and external CPA firms.
  • Negotiate and oversee contracts with finance and IT-related vendors to ensure favorable terms for the company.

Strategic Problem Solving
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement financial process improvements.
  • Develop strategic capital frameworks and evaluate potential investment opportunities.
  • Support company growth through strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance roles, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Experience working in manufacturing or CPG industries highly preferred.
  • Strong hands-on skills in financial reporting, reconciliations, and team management.
  • Demonstrated experience with corporate financial strategy, planning and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in ERP accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience working closely with or oversight of company-wide IT functions preferred.

Pay range and compensation package - This is a full-time, exempt position. The annual base salary is $170,000-190,000, plus a performance-based bonus. A competitive benefits package, 401K and PTO is included.

Location - The CFO works onsite in Creswell, OR (near Eugene) from our Earth Lab Botanicals manufacturing facility a minimum of three days per week (hybrid or fully on-site).
