SUMMARY OF POSITION
Merchandiser plays a pivotal role in optimizing our presence on the Amazon platform and gfuel.com to drive sales and enhance the customer shopping experience. This position involves creating and optimizing product listings, developing compelling content, executing promotions and campaigns, and managing SEO strategies. The role requires strong analytical skills to monitor performance metrics and competitor activities, ensuring our products maintain a competitive edge. The Merchandiser collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to maintain brand consistency and achieve business goals through effective merchandising strategies.
JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and support gfuel.com and Amazon website merchandising strategy to ensure accurate and optimal product exposure across categories, imagery, copy, pricing, and promotional details.
Create and optimize product listings on Amazon to ensure they are accurate, engaging, and search optimized.
Develop compelling content including product descriptions, titles, bullet points, and enhanced brand content (EBC) or A+ content.
Plan, execute, and monitor promotions and campaigns on Amazon to drive traffic and increase conversion rates.
Conduct keyword research and implement SEO strategies to improve product visibility and search rankings on Amazon.
Monitor competitor activities on Amazon and develop strategies to maintain competitive advantage.
Coordinate with supply chain and inventory teams to ensure accurate stock levels and timely product replenishment on Amazon.
Track and analyze key metrics (e.g., traffic, conversion rates, sales performance) on Amazon and provide actionable insights to improve performance.
Manage and support Master Data Workflows, including Customer Set-Up and Order Management
Deliver fit-for-use promotion and assortment requirements for online customers.
Inform and maintain stock levels in collaboration with supply and demand teams.
Proactively review marketing/merchandising calendar to identify opportunities to optimize revenue and customer engagement through product, collections, themes, marketing, and presentation.
Utilize the product catalog and performance metrics to build and sort category and product groupings as guided by marketing and merchandising initiatives.
Increase conversion and average order size through online merchandise management of best sellers, product promotions, up-sell, and cross-sell opportunities.
Support seasonal initiatives through featured collections of product bundles and landing page treatments.
Ensure timely and accurate implementation of website content and promotions across US and Canada.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid, and creative solutions are necessary.
Conduct analyses and utilize data to understand performance of creative treatments and guide ongoing improvements to merchandise presentation and performance.
Review competitor websites to ensure industry alignment with categorization, promotions, and trends.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Application Pre-Requisites:
4 year degree; advanced degree a plus
4+ years prior e-commerce experience with proven results to successfully grow businesses on-line.
Affinity with food and beverage, beauty, fashion or health and fitness.
Special skills required:
Open and accessible management style, with the ability to consistently achieve positive results and collaborate across the team
Strong background in customer acquisition, re-engagement and retention strategies
Comprehensive knowledge of the CRM landscape and KPI`s, digital marketing, e-retail- and brand strategies, with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex problems successfully
Expertise in SAP Hybris Marketing Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, Analytics), and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen to understand, and to translate the company/brand strategy to e-retailers and enroll them in support of strategies
Ability to effectively resolve competing priorities for Brands, team and other functions
Ability to work effectively within a fast paced, complex matrix and changing environment
Flexibility to travel as required
