Job Description:

The Executive Director, Commercial Insights & Analytics is a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing the commercial strategy for a marketed product as well as an expanding pipeline of therapies. This individual will lead a team responsible for U.S. and global Market Research, Forecasting, Competitive Intelligence, KPI Dashboarding, Brand Performance Reporting, and Advanced Analytics. The role requires uncovering strategic insights through diverse data sources and methodologies, driving organizational understanding, and enabling informed actions to achieve positive business outcomes. Reporting to the GVP, Commercial Operations, this position works closely with Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, Value & Access, Patient Services, and Medical teams.

This role is based in the company's Lexington office. Employees in this location follow a hybrid schedule of four days in the office and one day remote.

Responsibilities

(including, but not limited to):
  • Deliver high-quality commercial services, including Primary and Secondary Market Research, Forecasting, Competitive Intelligence, Business Intelligence & Reporting, and Advanced Analytics.
  • Hire, develop, and retain top talent within the Insights and Analytics function.
  • Collaborate with brand teams and cross-functional partners to address critical business questions and priorities.
  • Strategically prioritize insights and analytics efforts based on business needs, resource availability, and anticipated impact.
  • Introduce innovative analytics and market research techniques and automate analytics for near real-time execution.
  • Utilize advanced analytics and AI to optimize brand performance through improved targeting, patient finding, and patient risk stratification.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's data model, working with IT to ensure commercial data infrastructure aligns with analytics objectives.
  • Partner with Commercial Operations leaders to establish and maintain a robust Data Governance model, ensuring accuracy and consistency in metrics and KPIs.
  • Deliver high-quality insights with a strong emphasis on analytical accuracy and actionable recommendations.
  • Support commercial assessments for future indications, business development initiatives, and pipeline therapies, ensuring foundational insights and forecasts align with organizational goals.
  • Refine forecasting models to enhance accuracy and inform decision-making.
  • Manage agency/vendor partnerships and oversee the Insights and Analytics budget.
  • Present findings and recommendations effectively to executive leadership.
  • Support ex-U.S. commercialization efforts, providing insights and forecasts for global markets.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MS or MBA) preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in data analysis, decision support, market research, and forecasting, with experience in pharmaceuticals or biotech.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategy based on expert market and industry insights.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale cross-functional projects.
  • Expertise in analyzing statistical data, identifying trends, and synthesizing actionable insights.
  • Preferred experience with AWS, SQL, Snowflake, and Tableau.
  • Strong understanding of advanced analytics and market research methodologies; ability to manage vendors effectively.
  • Experience building and maintaining complex market assessments and forecast models.
  • Excellent prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with the capability to inspire and align teams around a shared vision.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, particularly in communicating complex concepts to executive audiences.
  • Strong commitment to compliance and ethical standards.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time, domestically and internationally.
