Posting Summary
Assist in the smooth daily operation of Henderson's Cafe, located within the UVM Bookstore. Perform opening or closing duties on a set schedule, routinely prepare coffee and specialty drinks, operate a cash register, maintain Cafe systems and displays, supervise student employees, and provide excellent customer service to customers and visitors.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
High School diploma required. An understanding of basic retail practices and knowledge of computer operations required. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice and training, fostering a collaborative multicultural environment.
Desirable Qualifications
Familiarity with retail sales and operations desired.
Experience in a fast-paced restaurant or café experience very desirable.
Anticipated Pay Range
18.54/hr
Other Information
Must be able to work some weekends, evenings, and occasional university holidays with occasional overtime.
Special Conditions
Bargaining Unit Position - United Electrical Workers, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), Weekend work required, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required, Background Check required for this position
