Job Description:

Associate Attorney (Class Action-Employment Defense)



A well-established law firm specializing in responsive, quality, and results-oriented legal services is seeking an Associate Attorney for its class action practice group in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in wage and hour class actions, PAGA cases, and managing compliance records. This position is perfect for a self-starter with strong organizational skills, excellent writing and oral advocacy, and a passion for delivering exceptional results.



Responsibilities:



  • Analyze client needs and develop effective case strategies.

  • Argue motions in court and represent clients in legal proceedings.

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions.

  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests.

  • Manage and analyze records (e.g., time records) to assess compliance issues.

  • Collaborate with partners, associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure smooth case handling.




Qualifications:



  • Active member of the California Bar (preferred).

  • 2+ years of litigation experience, with a focus on wage and hour class actions or PAGA.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Proficient in managing data, including time records, using Excel.

  • Familiarity with iManage and Coyote Analytics is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and handle a heavy caseload.




Work Expectations and Compensation:




  • Billable Hours: 1,850 annually.


  • Compensation Range: $120,000 - $190,000, based on experience (2-4 years, 5-7 years, or 8+ years).
