Adams & Martin Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Assistant. This position provides essential support to two attorneys, requiring a proactive, detail-oriented, and organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment for a firm located in South Orange County.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, prepare, and format a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and correspondence.
Create and manage spreadsheets, reports, and other supporting materials for case preparation.
File legal documents with various courts, ensuring compliance with filing requirements and deadlines (both electronic and physical filings).
Maintain and update attorney calendars, including scheduling hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings.
Track critical deadlines and manage case schedules effectively.
Conduct basic legal research and assist with assembling exhibits, case summaries, and other materials.
Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel, ensuring clear and professional communication.
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a litigation assistant role, specifically supporting insurance defense litigation.
In-depth knowledge of court rules, filing procedures, and calendaring requirements for state and federal courts.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Proficiency in legal software, case management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with e-filing systems such as PACER, CM/ECF, or state-specific platforms.
Experience working with document management systems and litigation support tools.
A proactive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently as needed.
