Join the Publix Technology Settlement Team as a Sr Software Engineer/Lead Software Engineer where you will be part of an agile team developing modern applications using various methods, tools, and technologies. You will be responsible for playing a key role interacting with enterprise teams and product management. As a technologist, you will write user stories and groom product backlog items to develop features that consider a frictionless user experience while leading the delivery of lasting contributions to Publix corporate associates.

The most suitable hire for this position will be a technical candidate with strong analytical, planning, problem solving, writing, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, technology vendors, and business unit customers. We are looking for someone with agile development and delivery experience. Additionally, the candidate would be familiar with all aspects of delivering software using agile best practices such as - test-driven development, code refactoring, CI/CD, simple code design, pair programming, and a common codebase using cloud technologies.

Responsibilities:


  • Leads the definition, design, configuration, coding/scripting, testing, and deployment of the most complex technical solutions across multiple disciplines under limited guidance.

  • Provides hands-on technical support for the most complex components including but not limited to application platforms, cloud platforms, security tools, hardware, middleware, and networking.

  • Performs on-call duties as required by the team to ensure 3rd tier support coverage for technologies within assigned discipline.

  • Serves as a point of contact for highly complex technical system issues.

  • Leads implementation of highly complex technical components in coordination with other technical components to provide a complete technology solution.

  • Ensures highly complex technical solutions adhere to security best practices and standards.

  • Leads the monitoring and tuning activities of highly complex technical systems for optimal availability and performance.

  • Leads proactive system, application, infrastructure, and security maintenance and management activities of the largest and most complex components.

  • Leads Disaster Recover and Business Continuity activities and testing under minimal guidance to ensure system resiliency.

  • Plans technical activities to manage personal work tasks along with tasks to be completed by others by estimating timelines and effort.


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related analytical filed or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience

  • 7+ years of coding experience leveraging .NET Framework 4.72+/.NET Core 6+ with C#, ASP.NET MVC, JS/jQuery, and object-oriented design.

  • 7+ years of experience in analyzing complex business problems or processes and translating business requirements into technology solutions that factor in system performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies, scalability, and total cost of ownership.

  • Leadership experience in driving the work of a team of individuals performing similar work in an agile scrum environment as a subject matter expert, product owner, business analyst, or similar position.

  • Experience planning and managing all activities associated with delivering solutions in a large-scale distributed internet facing environment.

  • Coordinating large and critical cross platform releases with business units and technical teams

  • Approving design of complex technical solutions working with architects and other I/S resources

  • Working closely with IT management on project and resource planning, including effort estimation

  • Strong knowledge of architecture and design of solutions in an Azure environment to solve business problems.

  • Ability to work concurrently on multiple assignments with similar deadlines.


  • 9+ years of software engineering experience

  • 7+ years of experience working in an agile scrum environment, leading developers, and working closely with business partners.

  • 5+ years of experience you have in implementing enterprise applications using platform services like Azure App service, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, Databricks, notification hubs, event hubs, Microservices, stream analytics, Cosmos DB, Redis Cache, OpenAPI, IoT Hub, application insights, etc.

  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert Certification (AZ-303/AZ-304) or equivalent experience in designing/architecting Azure solutions

  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines in either Azure DevOps or other similar tools.

  • Data store technologies such as SQL Server 2019/2022, Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB, and Redis Cache

  • Telerik UI for ASP.NET MVC/Telerik Reporting

  • Experience with PowerBI

  • Experience with Windows Server 2019

  • Experience with Active Directory permissions and Group Policy

  • Experience with event-based messaging platforms like Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Stream Analytics, or MQTT

  • Experience working in an EFT environment.
