Job Description:

Job Summary:
The Solutions Architect - Physical Security will work closely with the sales team and customers to provide technical expertise and support in the design, implementation, and configuration of physical security systems. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, sales skills, and customer service, with a primary focus on providing advanced solutions related to access control, IP video surveillance, alarm systems, and other physical security technologies. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying customer needs, offering solutions, and ensuring the successful deployment of security systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Pre-Sales Support:

Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and recommend tailored physical security solutions, including hardware and software products. Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to ensure solutions meet client needs and industry standards.

Product Demonstrations & Presentations:

Provide detailed product demonstrations, technical presentations, and training to customers, explaining how specific physical security solutions will benefit their business.

Solution Design & Specification:

Develop and present customized technical proposals, system designs, and detailed documentation for physical security systems, including IP video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and perimeter security solutions.

Technical Expertise & Consultation:

Serve as the technical expert for clients, providing consulting services, system integration advice, and support throughout the sales cycle. Help customers understand the technical aspects of the proposed solutions and their practical application.

Sales Support & Collaboration:
Work closely with account managers, project managers, and installation teams to ensure a seamless sales process. Provide post-sale technical support and troubleshooting assistance to ensure customer satisfaction.

Training & Knowledge Transfer:
Train and educate customers on the installation, configuration, and operation of the physical security systems. Provide ongoing education to internal teams on new products and industry trends.

Documentation & Reporting:
Create and maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including system designs, installation guides, and product specifications. Provide regular updates to sales leadership regarding project status, opportunities, and challenges.

Market Research & Trend Analysis:
Stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements in the physical security industry. Regularly review competitor offerings and market conditions to ensure the company remains competitive.

Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, understanding their needs and recommending appropriate solutions. Ensure customer satisfaction by providing timely and effective technical assistance.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical customers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to meeting the needs of both external and internal customers.
  • Proactively addresses issues, offering creative and practical solutions.
  • Clearly conveys technical information to a variety of audiences.
  • Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
  • Able to adjust quickly to new technologies, systems, and client requirements.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Security Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering, technical support, or system design for physical security systems.
  • Experience with physical security technologies such as IP video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, intercom systems, and integrated security solutions.
  • Familiarity with security industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Industry certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or similar. (Preferred)
  • Vendor-specific certifications for physical security systems (e.g., Verkada, Rhombus, Salto, Axis, Genetec, Honeywell, etc.). (Preferred)

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to travel as required to customer sites, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and use office equipment, including computers and phones.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Office setting with occasional travel to customer sites, including industrial and commercial environments.
  • Flexibility to work remotely, when necessary, with the expectation of occasional site visits for presentations, assessments, and training.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds
