About the job
Within our US Human Resources Shared Services team, you will play a key role in supporting our internal clients [employees and managers], Human Resources Business Partners and HR Centers of Excellence by performing a variety of HR technical and administrative activities.
Currently this is a Fixed-term (12 months) hybrid opportunity located in Houston, TX.
In this role, you will be an active member of the US Human Resources team as well as part of the Alfa Laval HR Shared Services community. You will:
Process new hires from time of job offer through first week of hire
Act as first point of contact for inquiries into HR from internal and external clients, responding with a high level of customer service, professionalism, and promptness
Follow set standard operating procedures (SOPs) when completing tickets submitted via the ticket management system (ServiceNow)
Process day-to-day Human Resources transactions, accurately enter data into HR systems and databases, and ensure proper transmission of HR data to employees and relevant HR stakeholders
Interact with various departments to resolve issues and complete tasks for the greater HR team
In partnership with HR, immigration attorneys, and employees, ensure visa processing is completed for employees requiring visas
Coordinate with HR to ensure Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) is updated and reaches completion
Recommend process improvements, identify issues, and make suggestions that enhance customer service and increase efficiencies
Assisting with payroll responsibilities, as needed

What you know:
You have high energy, a positive attitude, and enjoy developing relationships in a matrix business environment. In addition, you have:
A High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years HR-related customer service preferred
Strong numerical and analytical skills: Ability to accurately process and analyze data, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements
Experience working in an HR Shared Service Center preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with Workday, UKG, or similar HCM/HRIS database
Experience working with ServiceNow or other similar ticketing system
Familiarity with a broad range of HR functions
