Basic Job Functions:


Nucor Steel Decatur is seeking a leader for the position of Controller. This is a Department Manager level position that reports to the Vice President/General Manager. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Leadership role in promoting safety as a value, environmental stewardship, and profitability
• Leadership role in managing all the division's accounting/financial reporting, as well as being a key contributor in developing/executing the strategic direction of the division and product group
• Leadership role in managing information systems and purchasing-related activities and personnel
• Leadership role in protecting Nucor's assets through risk-management activities and maintaining an appropriate internal control structure
• Provide general financial experience and leadership to analyze business situations and formulate appropriate strategies
• Be a key business partner to the commercial, operations, and maintenance teams to help facilitate continuous improvement across the facility

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business or accounting
• Minimum 5 years' experience in financial related positions
• Prior leadership and supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA and/or MBA
• Willing to relocate within Nucor as future opportunities arise
