PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Oversee the planning, acquisition, and management of field service & training work directives

  • Develop and implement strategies for the management of multiple work directives

  • Cross functionally communicates plans, strategies and issues and drive resolution

  • Lead and develop the organization to meet dynamic customer needs

  • Drive continuous skill set improvements within the organization

  • Responsible for coordination with all necessary and appropriate internal and external supporting organizations to ensure the program/project is executed

  • Develop and maintain key process indicators, providing regular reporting and implementing corrective actions as necessary

  • Required to establish a detailed understanding of the customer and provide appropriate direction to AM General functional staff on identification of customer requirements and resolution of customer issues

  • Position will plan and manage advanced, complex, long range strategic company program funded by Government contract(s) and/or AM General funds

  • Position requires the ability to understand complex relationships, strategies, and approaches to develop plans for execution resulting in a product or service

  • This person will interact or direct AM General, Government, subcontractor, teammate, or partnership personnel on a frequent basis to assure delivery of Customer, AM General and stakeholder core business programs/goals/objectives

  • Responsible to generate appropriate reports and briefings to provide the necessary information to make critical program business decisions in a timely manner

  • Responsible for informing senior management and staff when the potential exists for a variance of program schedule, cost and/or performance requirements

  • Conduct effective meetings and reviews with both internal and external customers ensuring customer requirements, project plans and company objectives are met in a timely manner


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS



  • Required B.S. in Engineering, Business, or related field. M.S. business or related field is preferred

  • 3 or more years of program management experience, preferably in military tactical vehicles or defense industry, PMP certification preferred

  • Understanding of Field Service and Training in defense

  • Demonstrated DoD Acquisition Customer experience

  • Demonstrated strategic and tactical planning to address customer needs and company goals

  • Expertise with typical project management (planning and control) systems and tools such as: Contract and Subcontract Management, Systems Engineering Process, Integrated Master Plan, Integrated Master Schedule, Program Management Reviews, Major Milestone Reviews, Capture and Proposal Plans, Internal Budget Development and Business Case Development

  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written

  • Proven ability to guide a product development process

  • Willingness to travel as needed

  • Must be able to work alone, as well as part of a team

  • Must be able to build consensus, decide, provide direction, and deliver outcomes

  • Prior military or defense acquisition service preferred


PHYSICAL EFFORT



  • Sight: must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner, including regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus

  • Hearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate


WORKING CONDITIONS



  • Physical Location:  This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and is often assigned to a specific shift or hours. The Employee must be able to perform job functions in an environment with varying difficult work conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, and/or while exposed to constant/intermittent loud noises

  • Teamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace

  • Listening Skills:  This position will need to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accurately

  • Ability to follow instructions:  Managers assign tasks and responsibilities, which vary; this position should be able to follow instructions competently

  • Methodical approach:  Production lines follow a set process, so this position needs a methodical approach to ensure all tasks are completed in the correct order for a smooth-running production line

  • Concentration:  This position may perform the same or similar tasks repeatedly, so a strong level of concentration when carrying out these tasks is important for quality control purposes. This role is often fast paced, so being able to maintain focus at all times is important

 Up to 25% travel may be required
