Job Description:

Job Summary: The Maintenance Buyer will be responsible for overseeing maintenance stockroom and Inventory control at the Covington, GA site. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the availability of parts needed to ensure the maintenance team can service equipment and facilities. The Maintenance Buyer will collaborate closely with on-site maintenance team, engineers, and leadership to ensure the properly stocked parts, inventory levels and parts availability meet the demand of the business. Key Responsibilities: - Stockroom: Develop and organized a properly functioning stockroom. Maintain detailed records of parts ordered and used. - Inventory Control: Complete required inventory cycle counts to ensure properly parts stock. Level set min/max levels based on data analysis to avoid overtime or stockout conditions. Work closely with supervisors, technicians, and the procurement team to ensure availability of parts, tools, and resources needed for scheduled maintenance - Purchase Orders: Utilizing site purchasing system issue purchase orders to maintain inventory levels as well as spot buys for site ongoing projects. - Maintenance Optimization: Level set min/max levels based on data analysis to avoid overtime or stockout conditions. Continuously improve maintenance buying processes by reviewing historical data and part usage. - Inventory Management: Collaborate with the procurement and supply chain teams to manage parts inventory and ensure critical spares are always available. - Reporting & Metrics: Track maintenance parts spending and budgeting. Report out inventory analysis and plans to optimize stockroom. Work with maintenance manager and purchasing team to reconcile budget and invoices. - Cost Control: Monitor and control maintenance expenses while ensuring maximum parts availability to ensure equipment reliability and availability. - Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving maintenance buying processes, stockroom organization and cost control. Qualifications: - 3-5 years of experience in maintenance purchasing, stockroom or inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing environment. - Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) **Preferably eMaint**. - Strong knowledge of maintenance principles, equipment, and processes. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Ability to work effectively across multiple teams. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards for maintenance. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives.


 




Work Environment



  • Noise levels in the work environment can be moderate to high.

  • The plant facility is subject to the same general climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.)

  • Chemicals, dust, pollen, and other typical airborne particulate matter are present within the atmosphere of the production floor and may create some odors in the plant. The Company, in an effort, to provide its employees with a safe and healthy working environment, limits exposure to chemicals through written procedures, engineering controls, and PPE.

  • While some chemicals may pose health risks if not properly used, employees are trained on the proper safety equipment and procedures for handling chemicals.

  • While the chemical exposure and odors are under acceptable levels set by OSHA and the WCB, they nevertheless, can be smelled and are handled according to the company’s hazardous communication program.
