POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT Programmer II is responsible for designing, coding, testing, and documenting moderately complex programs and scripts using programming languages, while adhering to agreed standards and tools. This position is involved in designing components of software systems, specifying user or system interfaces, and conducting independent testing and troubleshooting. In addition, this role will be responsible for building predictive AI/ML models using data transformation infrastructure for data sharing with joint enterprise systems and application program interfaces (API's). The IT Programmer II also plays a key role in managing build and deployment processes, supporting application maintenance, and collaborating with other team members in technical reviews and decision-making.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Programming/Software Development:
Designs, codes, verifies and tests moderately complex artificial intelligence programs/scripts while integrating and maintaining machine learning products.
Refactor existing code to improve performance, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to junior programmers.
Identify and troubleshoot software development issues and propose solutions.

Software Design:
Design software components and applications following agreed standards and guidelines.
Assists as part of a team in the design of components of larger software systems.
Specify user or system interfaces for software modules.
Create multiple design views to meet various stakeholder needs.
Collaborates in reviews of work with others as appropriate.

Release and Deployment:
Manage version control and maintain organized code repositories.
Write and maintain build scripts and ensure the automation of build processes.
Conduct thorough testing, including unit, integration, and system tests.
Plan and execute deployments, ensuring consistency across environments (development, testing, production).
Provide post-release support and monitor system performance.

Embedded Systems Development:
Contribute to the design and development of embedded system components.
Collaborate in testing and validating embedded software.

Application Support:
Maintain application support processes and respond to user requests following agreed procedures.
Uses application management software and tools to investigate issues, collect
performance statistics and create reports.

Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field, with three years of experience in related positions; or a Master's degree in directly related fields.
Conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.

PREFERRED:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field, with six years of experience in related positions; or a Master's degree in directly related fields with three years of experience.
