We are seeking a full-time Inside Sales Application Engineer with experience in agricultural pumps. This is an exempt, onsite position based at our office in Clackamas, OR. Regular working hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

The annual base salary range is $60,000 - 75,000 (DOE)

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The Inside Sales Application Engineer provides technical support and sales assistance for Cornell equipment via phone troubleshooting and proactive customer engagement. You'll handle sales quotes and orders, offer accurate technical guidance, follow up on leads, address inquiries, and oversee projects for timely completion. Additionally, you'll collaborate with dealerships and colleagues, represent Cornell at events, and travel to customer sites as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Proactively engage in telephone-based troubleshooting to assist customers in selecting the appropriate Cornell equipment.
  • Craft and input comprehensive sales quotations and orders, highlighting key features, pricing, and credit terms.
  • Expertly navigates technical pump information (such as Bills of Materials, Curves, and Dimensions) to provide accurate guidance.
  • Conduct outbound lead follow-up via phone and email, effectively nurturing both potential and existing customer relationships.
  • Skillfully address technical and business concerns raised by prospective customers to facilitate successful sales outcomes.
  • Deliver product demonstrations, including cutaways and display pumps, to interested customers upon request.
  • Assume ownership of large-scale projects, ensuring their smooth execution and timely completion.
  • Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with Cornell dealerships and internal colleagues, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Serve as a representative of Cornell at dealer-hosted events, as well as trade shows and other promotional activities.
  • Flexibly travel to customer sites as needed to provide support and build rapport.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience with water system experience, pumping systems background, familiarity with piping plan drawing takeoff and specification review, and computer skills that fit our systems.
