Product Data Specialist - CPQ Oracle Configurator at Elgin Sweeper in Elgin, Illinois

Job Description:

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain rules and tables of all products models (standard and non-standard parts) and attributes by compiling marketing, engineering, and sales information. 


2. Evaluate engineering and BOM information for all options/accessories to assess compatibility and required constraints. 


3. Develops logic and rule restrictions for sales options based on compatibility and restraints while effectively communicating all changes to the external sales channels (Dealers, Regional Sales Manager, etc.). 


4. Manages the bid management interface and verifies the accuracy of all data. 


5. Responsible for implementing new product and option releases in the Elgin Sweeper configurator sales tool. 


6. Develop and maintain rules and tables for the configuration of all product models including standard and non-standard parts. 


7. Provide user support to make sure the tool is appropriately used. 


8. Create and maintain the product catalog inclusive of all product entries, marketing verbiage, and product images.


9. Develop and maintain technical documentation including work instructions and process flow information for all sales tool applications.


10. Reviews Engineering Change Notice releases and makes necessary changes to sales tools.


11. Work with sales application engineer to build, review, and validate configurator BOM table information.


12. Complete a minimum of 12 hours of on-going education to expand technical sales tool capabilities.


13. Ensure data integrity across all business systems, as well as develop and enforce product data standards and procedures.


14. Seek opportunities to develop solutions and business simplification for sales processes and tools.


15. Develop and maintain documentation for product release information and provide configurator training as needed to internal/external users.


16. Work closely with Inside Sales Manager, Product Management, and support staff to generate reporting as related to data generated throughout the sales process.


17. Perform other duties, assignments and special projects as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred; would consider non degreed candidates with relevant experience.


• 2-4 years experience in related field required.


• Demonstrated strong work product attention to detail.


• Good interpersonal skills.


• Must be able to understand and communicate technical specifications to non technical staff.


• Intermediate experience in Excel required.
