We are seeking a full-time Business Analyst 2 Internet in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering, documenting, and effectively communicating user requirements for medium to large size projects of average to significant complexity for products across their strategic channel.
Essential Functions
Work closely with project team, including multiple stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and deliverables are aligned with long-term business objectives as well as project objectives
Serve as functional subject matter expert for application/technology solution and related business processes
Manage user requirements for medium to large size projects of average to significant complexity for products across their strategic channel
Identify both basic and ancillary discrepancies and conflicts in application(s) requirements
Facilitate reconciliation of business tactical and strategic direction
Regularly suggest improvements to business processes to multiple stakeholders and IT business analysis processes
Facilitate acceptance testing by end users to ensure appropriate standards are met and successful deployment validation is completed
Collaborate directly with co-located and remote development team members and/or business clients and QA team to define test cases and assist with testing efforts
Partner with business stakeholders to determine application roadmap and serve as functional subject matter expert for application/technology solution and related business processes within IT
Serve as a mentor to less experienced Business Analysts (Business Analyst 1)
Partner with multiple global Garmin Product Managers to develop and document requirements using use cases, scenarios, complex and perhaps conflicting business workflow analyses
Decompose high-level information into detailed user stories and abstract up from low-level information to detailed understanding of business needs
Work with language services and country business units to ensure translations are correct
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or related field AND a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
Demonstrated advanced understanding of business analysis principles/methodologies and possesses the ability to adapt practices to meet business climate and needs
Experience with and understanding of web-based concepts/processes, automated testing tools and testing procedures
Demonstrated experience in successful implementation of technology solutions
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organization
Must possess a professional approach to situations in which conflict is present
Desired Qualifications
Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
Certifications: PMI-PBA, CBAP, scrummaster
Continuing education courses in business analysis
Agile/Scrum methodology experience and/or training
Knowledge and experience with bug tracking tools and project management tools
Knowledge of conceptual web application architecture and human factors in UX design
Experience with multivariant testing
International communications experience
