The Vice President of Applications leads the applications organization and drives the strategic vision, development, and optimization of enterprise applications across the company. This role is essential for guiding high-impact initiatives, aligning application strategies with business objectives, and enhancing the company's technological framework. Reporting to senior IT leadership, this position requires a forward-thinking leader capable of transforming application environments to support innovation, efficiency, and scalability.Minimum requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
15+ years of experience in IT applications or software development
7 years in senior leadership roles.
Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the applications domain, with a strong track record of managing large-scale projects and teams.
Extensive knowledge of enterprise applications, cloud infrastructure, data governance, and industry best practices in application management.
Strong experience in negotiating and managing vendor contracts to maximize value and mitigate risk.
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to require work schedules, and follow company policies.
Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines and prioritize work.

Compensation:
The annual salary range for this position will be $229,760 - $260,200/yr.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Set the strategic direction for the applications team, aligning application initiatives with company-wide goals for growth, efficiency, and technological advancement.
Oversee the development and management of application roadmaps, ensuring alignment with both short- and long-term organizational objectives.
Lead and manage major application projects, ensuring that each initiative meets quality, budget, and timeline expectations.
Drive cross-functional collaboration with project management, IT teams, vendors, and other business units to ensure seamless execution and integration of new applications
Use analytics and feedback to continuously refine processes, maximize productivity, and deliver measurable ROI on application initiatives
Collaborate with a variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance.
Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
Other daily, weekly, monthly, or special projects may be assigned.
Build and mentor a high-performing applications team, establishing a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and excellence in execution.
Provide regular feedback, identify growth opportunities, and implement training programs to keep the team aligned with the latest industry standards and best practices.
Develop and oversee the application budget, focusing on cost-efficient project execution, resource optimization, and strategic investment in technology.
Evaluate current software and services to identify cost-saving opportunities and assess feasibility for in-house development or process automation.
Lead efforts to migrate applications to cloud infrastructure where applicable, balancing cost, scalability, and security considerations.
Collaborate closely with procurement and vendor management teams to negotiate favorable contracts, manage vendor relationships, and mitigate potential risks.
Establish policies and procedures that ensure compliance with SOX, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements, maintaining strong data governance across all applications.
Strengthen risk management practices by setting clear guidelines for application security, data privacy, and risk assessment in vendor agreements.
Drive continuous improvement in application performance, system integration, and user experience by implementing best practices and industry standards.
Identify emerging technology trends and assess their potential impact on the business, spearheading pilots and projects to leverage these opportunities.
Act as a liaison between senior leadership and the applications team, translating business needs into technical initiatives and ensuring alignment on goals and expectations.
Provide regular updates to senior leadership, including reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), project milestones, and strategic recommendations for future initiatives.
Develop and track KPIs to assess the health and performance of application environments, focusing on areas such as uptime, response times, issue resolution, and user satisfaction.
