About the Role:



The Everest Insurance Life Sciences senior underwriter engages with insurance brokers, soliciting Life Sciences Industry products liability submissions. The underwriter reviews the submitted materials/applications, determines suitability, decides whether to provide a proposal for insurance, and under what terms. The underwriter is also expected to be building on business relationships with both key, established brokers and seeking new, potentially fruitful relationships with emerging brokers.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Utilizing authority to underwrite and price business for the following lines of coverage: Life Sciences Products Liability, Workers Compensation, Commercial General Liability, Property and Commercial Auto liability, while adhering to divisional underwriting guidelines.

  • Establishing and maintaining national & regional broker relationships.

  • Assisting in development and execution of business strategy necessary to drive submission flow and binding of profitable business.

  • Working collaboratively with home office, marketing & distribution, actuary, claims, loss control, premium audit, and legal in an effort to develop and maintain a profitable portfolio of Life Sciences insurance placements.

  • Management & oversight of junior staff.



Qualifications:


  • College degree preferred, with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience underwriting Life Sciences products liability insurance.

  • Should have significant experience and expertise in working with a broad array of risk management program structures including Guaranteed Cost and Loss Sensitive programs.

  • Existing relationships with brokers handling upper middle market business and/or direct client relationships required.

  • Possess strong presentation, communication, and business development skills.



For California Only: The base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $165,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
