A Day in the Life
Medtronic Acute Care and Monitoring (AC&M) provides biological sensors and respiratory intervention devices to monitor respiratory decline in patients in hospital and in a home care setting. We are currently looking for a Technical Sourcing Project Lead to support Research & Development projects at our Boulder, CO location.

As a Technical Sourcing Project Lead at Medtronic, you will focus on supporting New Product Development by acting as the key Point of Contact between R&D and our suppliers in the development of medical devices in the Acute Care & Monitoring area. Technical Sourcing Project Leads are directly involved in ensuring that we have a robust supply base that enables Medtronic to deliver quality products at a competitive price.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • Contribute to the success of New Product Development by working closely with the R&D engineering staff to find robust preferred suppliers from the existing supply base or by finding new suppliers that offer the best quality, performance, and cost for our products under development.

  • Responsible for leading, developing and executing sourcing strategies that are in alignment with cross-functional groups such as Category Managers, Site Sourcing, R&D, Quality and other stakeholders.

  • Provide clear communications to suppliers on these strategies as well as developing contracts and other agreements to support them.

  • Support DRM and other early supplier involvement initiatives.

  • Facilitate and participate in R&D and supplier technical and business meetings to ensure team timelines and objectives are met.

  • Liaise with multidisciplinary and cross-functional groups in other Business Units and locations to ensure alignment with team objectives.

  • Travel for this position is approximately 25% or less.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have


  • Dynamic team player and leader who can work effectively on cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with New Product Development (NPI) efforts.


  • Technical acumen in a variety of disciplines to include Electronics (Active & Passive Components), High Level Assembly, & Contract Manufacturing and other manufacturing methods are desirable.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$85,600.00 - $128,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance , Health Savings Account , Healthcare Flexible Spending Account , Life insurance, Long-term disability leave , Dependent daycare spending account , Tuition assistance/reimbursement , and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns. Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
