Job Title: Software Engineer (Contingent Resource)


Location: Iselin, NJ


Job Type: Contract - 12 months, with potential for extension or conversion


Job Description:


As a Software Engineer in this contingent resource assignment, you will:

• Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Software Engineering.


• Contribute to large-scale planning related to Software Engineering deliverables.


• Review and analyze moderately complex Software Engineering challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors.


• Resolve moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Software Engineering deliverables.


• Leverage a solid understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.


• Collaborate with client personnel in Software Engineering.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of application development and implementation experience using Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Python/Scala.


• Strong experience in T-SQL Development, including complex stored procedures, data load, and views.


• Experience in designing and developing ETL processes to move data from various sources, preferably from flat files, JSON, Oracle, and experience with FTP, NDM.


• Experience in writing AUTOSYS JIL (Job Information Language) commands.


• Experience in deploying database components from lower environments to UAT/Production environments.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.


• 3+ years of experience with Agile tools.

Desired Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience designing and implementing process solutions for automation.


• 3+ years of build-deploy automation and configuration experience.


• 3+ years of advanced SQL & data development experience.


• 1+ year of experience with DevOps environments.


• An industry-standard technology certification.


• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.


• A BS/BA degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Mathematics.

Job Expectations:

• Ability to work additional hours as needed.


• Ability to work outside of regular business hours.

Supplier Expectations:

• All resumes must be submitted in Beeline; otherwise, they will not be reviewed.


• No soliciting of resumes or communication with the Reports to Manager while the position is live.

Role Requirements:

• Looking for a focused developer with expertise in Spark, Scala, Python, and Hadoop.


• Advanced capabilities in SQL, Hadoop, Hive, and Spark.


• Supporting the trade and market surveillance team.


• Must have advanced SQL skills, capable of identifying gaps and performing all development-related tasks.


• Participation in daily scrum calls.


• Part of a team of 30+ members.


• Not expected to work in production support; will focus on coding.


• Finance industry experience is highly preferred.
