Provide instructions to individuals or small groups in various areas such as cognitive skills, motor skills (both gross and fine), feeding skills, self-help skills, and behavior management, as directed by the teacher.
Help students with personal hygiene tasks, such as washing hands and faces, toileting, and changing diapers and clothes as needed.
Monitor and manage student behavior according to established guidelines.
Support specialists with physical development activities.
Prepare students for mainstream classes following established procedures.
Attend training sessions and in-services related to medical interventions and instructional programs.
Assist students with orthopedic equipment like braces, including lifting, positioning, and repositioning them as needed.
Help the teacher maintain various records related to student progress.
Implement positive behavior intervention support policies.
Collaborate with case workers, general education teachers, and other staff as needed.
Assist students in social interactions.
Work cooperatively with others and independently when needed.
Assist the teacher in ensuring the health and safety of students with physical disabilities by being vigilant about the environment and each child's actions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
First Aid Certificate including CPR
TB test clearance
Criminal Justice Fingerprint clearance
Own, reliable form of transportation (car)
