Position Overview

As a Quality Assurance Analyst, you will compile and analyze data to improve processes and procedures. Facilitate and implement continuous improvement projects. Responsibilities also include regulatory compliance. Occasional product testing is expected.

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities

• Determines products for testing of quality hold product and other projects as needed, and tests these products for a variety of qualities such as dimension, performance and mechanical, electrical or chemical characteristics
• Collects and evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards
• Verifies and Validates processes and records to maintain compliance with BRC/FSMA certification standards
• Reviews and revises quality assurance standards, studies existing policies and procedures, and interviews manufacturing personnel to evaluate effectiveness of quality assurance programs
• Assists the department in daily quality assurance and housekeeping activities in laboratory including maintenance and validation of testing equipment
• Assists with the set-up, adjustment, cleaning, calibration and operation of quality testing equipment
• Creates quality assurance policies, programs and procedures
• Investigates consumer complaints/problems and responds to Customer Service Department with results of analysis
• Identifies specific topics for review such as problem procedures or other factors, provides ideas (solutions) for improvement, and establishes root causes/corrective actions
• Compiles statistical data and writes narrative reports summarizing quality assurance findings
• Obtains and records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures and analyzes statistical test data to support reasoning of program
• Responsible for sanitation and safety of work area and maintenance of equipment in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices, Consolidated Standards of Food Safety and GFSI requirements
• May be requested to perform different or additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in related field from four-year college or university plus three or more years related experience and/or training; or five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in food manufacturing environment
  
  
  • Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may fulfill this requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager with approval from Human Resources.
• Familiar with State and Federal regulatory requirements
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word and Excel)
• Familiar with Quality Assurance, Statistical, and mechanical terminology
• Must have or obtain certification for PCQI
• SAP knowledge preferred

• Plant Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment from production machinery is usually very loud.
