Description Overview We are currently looking for a Government Affairs Coordinator to reside within a commutable distance to Washington DC. This position reports directly to the Head of International Government Affairs and plays a crucial role in managing the relationship between an organization and government entities. Our ideal candidate has a strong understanding of government processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating meetings with government officials, preparing policy briefs, and staying informed about public policy changes and political developments. Scope of the Role Monitor and Analyze Policy Developments: Keep track of legislative and regulatory activities at local, state, and federal levels. Coordinate with Internal Teams: Work with other departments to ensure compliance with government regulations. Liaise with Government Officials: Advocate for the organization's interests by maintaining relationships with legislators and regulators. Organize Lobbying Activities: Plan and manage political events and lobbying efforts and represent the organization at meetings, hearings, and other events. Develop Strategies: Assist in the development and implementation of legislative strategies. Prepare Reports: Generate reports on policy trends and changes affecting the organization, prepare policy briefs, presentations, and other communication materials. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in government departments. Regulatory Submissions: Assist in preparing regulatory submissions and compliance reports. Experience Required Education: Typically these skills are obtained with a bachelor's degree; a degree in Political Science or a related field is strongly preferred. Experience: 2-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a non-profit, healthcare organization, campaign, or elected official's office. Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent project management skills, strong organizational abilities, and effective communication skills.
