Shipping / Receiving Manager




Job Description



Brooks is looking for a Shipping / Receiving Manager as we accelerate our growth journey. This will be an onsite role based out of our Chelmsford, MA, Corporate Headquarters.




The Shipping / Receiving Manager will oversee daily operations within the shipping and receiving department to ensure timely and accurate handling of goods, compliance with company policies, and adherence to safety standards. This role requires leadership, organizational skills, and a strong commitment to maintaining efficient workflows while fostering a positive work environment.




WHAT YOU'LL DO




Team Management:



  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of shipping and receiving personnel.


  • Develop schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels and workload distribution.


  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.





Operations Oversight:



  • Oversee the receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming shipments.


  • Manage the preparation and shipment of outgoing orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.


  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and procurement teams.


  • Resolve discrepancies or issues related to damaged, missing, or incorrect shipments.





Process Optimization:



  • Develop and implement efficient workflows and standard operating procedures (SOPs).


  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify opportunities for improvement.





Safety and Compliance:



  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.


  • Conduct routine safety inspections and enforce proper handling of goods and equipment.


  • Maintain accurate records for audits and compliance purposes.





Communication and Collaboration:



  • Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement, production, and customer service, to align operations with company goals.


  • Communicate effectively with carriers, suppliers, and customers to manage logistics.





WHAT YOU'LL BRING



  • High School Diploma or equivalent related work experience required. Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred.


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations environment.


  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.


  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and shipping software.


  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards.


  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand / walk for extended periods.


  • Comfortable working in warehouse environments, which may include varying temperatures.


  • Hazardous Materials Certification a plus.


  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud a plus.
