Job Summary
Ensure all plumbing systems operate as designed, to include routine installations, maintenance and testing of equipment and systems, calibrations Ensure all plumbing systems operate as designed, to include routine installations, maintenance and testing of equipment and systems, calibrations and repair and related piping. Solicit and prepare costing estimates to support a 'fee for service'. Work with contractors to do a cost analysis for equipment or systems pay back and utility rebates. Work on special projects and program to support construction and renovation projects. Monitor the installation and repair of equipment and systems by contractors during construction and renovation projects.



Qualifications



Key Responsibilities:



  • Medical gas systems are maintained and documentation completed per department and regulatory guidelines.

  • Piping systems for water, sewage, gas, steam and air are installed, repaired and maintained per department standards.

  • Pool is maintained to meet regulatory guidelines.

  • Replacement parts, material, and tools are ordered and maintained to meet needs of work orders.

  • Stock and material lists are prepared to complete work order requests and other routine work.

  • Daily rounds are completed to ensure mechanical equipment is functioning and malfunctions are reported to appropriate parties.

  • Documentation reflects repairs, replacement parts and adjustments as per department and regulatory guidelines.

  • Preventative maintenance program is established and maintained per established timeframes.

  • Trucks and other mechanical equipment are operated and maintained in safe and serviceable condition.

  • Safety equipment and tools are readily available and in working order.

  • Emergency and routine repairs are responded to within department timeframes.

  • Work areas are kept clean and equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks and end of shifts per safety and regulations.

  • Daily work sheets are completed and submitted per department standards.

  • Assistance is provided to the various trades in the installation, maintenance or basic repair of equipment, piping, electric, HVAC systems and snow removal per department standards.

  • Customer service and quality improvement efforts are supported with active participation to meet established goals.

  • Additional department, organization, or network activities are completed per established objectives.

Qualifications and Experience




Education/Degree



Required


  • Must be able to read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations at a level generally acquired through a high school education.



Licensure


Required


  • Licensure as a plumber in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.



Skills (Specific learned activity gained through training (e.g. computer skills, keyboarding, presentation, CPR, ACLS, e tc.


Required


  • Knowledge of plumbing supplies and equipment and the ability to read blueprints and piping diagrams.

  • Working knowledge of automated building maintenance systems.

  • Effective verbal, electronic and written communications skills using the English language



  • Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software.



  • Maintain variable work schedule to meet the needs of the department (e.g., evenings, holidays, weekends, on-call).
