Pacific Coast Producers, a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, is seeking a motivated and proactive People Operations Intern to join our team in Lodi, California. PCP is dedicated to investing in its people and fostering a culture of service, where each employee can do their best to make affordable, high-quality products for customers across North America.

Based at our corporate headquarters, the intern will also support People Operations initiatives across production, distribution, and warehousing operations in Lodi while gaining exposure to key Human Resources functions. This summer internship will run from May to August 2025 and is an ideal opportunity for a student currently pursuing a relevant bachelor’s degree. A successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic workplace and develop practical HR skills.

Pay Rate: $20-$30 per hour; candidate will be paid based on their work experience and skills. The internship will require 40 hours per week.

What You’ll Do:

As the People Operations Intern, you will focus on project-based work that supports company initiatives, including those that directly contribute to a seasonal harvest operation. Responsibilities may include:

Core Functions:

  • Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding processes.
  • Present training sessions to small and large groups.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, including planning and executing events and recognition programs.

Project Work:

  • Collaborate with the People Operations team to document workflows and standard operating procedures.
  • Research and assess emerging HR technology solutions as assigned.
  • Conduct audits of employee directories, organizational charts, and job description databases.

Administrative Support:

  • Perform data entry, filing, and report creation to support People Operations departments.
  • Assist with research on applicable law, and opportunities to improve employee relations and culture.

Process Improvements:

  • Evaluate and improve existing People Operations workflows and processes.
  • Analyze employee data to identify trends and support decision-making.

Labor Relations Exposure:

  • Gain familiarity with collective bargaining agreements and how they affect practices in a food manufacturing setting.

Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in a Human Resources or a similar field and actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High energy and confidence in presenting to diverse groups.
  • Critical thinking and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to maintain good attendance, and work flexible hours based on business needs.
  • Secondary language (e.g., Spanish or Punjabi) would be highly beneficial.
