Job Description:

Site: Mass General Brigham Community Physicians, Inc.

At Mass General Brigham, we know it takes a surprising range of talented professionals to advance our mission-from doctors, nurses, business people and tech experts, to dedicated researchers and systems analysts. As a not-for-profit organization, Mass General Brigham is committed to supporting patient care, research, teaching, and service to the community. We place great value on being a diverse, equitable and inclusive organization as we aim to reflect the diversity of the patients we serve.

At Mass General Brigham, we believe a diverse set of backgrounds and lived experiences makes us stronger by challenging our assumptions with new perspectives that can drive revolutionary discoveries in medical innovations in research and patient care. Therefore, we invite and welcome applicants from traditionally underrepresented groups in healthcare - people of color, people with disabilities, LGBTQ community, and/or gender expansive, first and second-generation immigrants, veterans, and people from different socioeconomic backgrounds - to apply.

The Mass General Brigham Medical Group is a system-led operating entity formed by Mass General Brigham to deliver high quality, low cost, innovative community-based ambulatory care. This work stems from Mass General Brigham's unified system strategy to bring health care closer to patients while lowering total health care costs. The Medical Group provides a wide range of offerings, including primary care, specialty care, behavioral and mental health, and urgent care, both digitally as well as at physical locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. The group also offers outpatient surgery and endoscopy, imaging, cardiac testing, and infusion. We share the commitment to delivering a coordinated and comprehensive experience across all locations, ensuring the appropriate level of care is available to every patient across our care delivery sites.

Our Orthopedic and Sports Medicine team treats the full spectrum of sports related injuries and orthopedic conditions, from common injuries to the most complex. We offer a range of services such as sports conditioning, physical therapy, injury prevention, and surgical/non-surgical treatments.

Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Practice Assistant to work onsite Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm in our Orthopedic/Sports Medicine office. The primary location will be 288 Groveland Street Haverhill, MA 01830. We do our best to keep all employees in their assigned practices, but employees can expect to also float to our North Andover Orthopedic/Sports Medicine site at 231 Sutton Street for routine cross-coverage.

Our Practice Assistants play an integral part in the operations of our community-based physician practices. Dedicated to administrative support, these Assistants serve as the gatekeepers of our practices and ensure that our team is delivering the highest quality experience that exceeds our patients' expectations.

Responsibilities:

Leading up to the patient visit, Practice Assistants schedule all appointments and obtain Prior Authorizations from insurances when needed for specific exams.
During the patient's visit, the focus is check-in, which includes greeting patients, answering all of their questions, assisting with any pre-visit paperwork/forms, and collecting co-payments.
At the conclusion of the visit, during check-out, Practice Assistants are tasked with scheduling follow-up appointments, tests, and/or procedures.
