Join us in transforming lives and exploring professional growth. Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and organized Unit Coordinator to support our multidisciplinary care team. This role is crucial in managing communication, patient records, and ensuring the smooth operation of unit activities. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated to providing exceptional service to our patients and staff. Key Responsibilities: 1. Communications: 2. Greet patients, physicians, visitors, and staff warmly. 3. Utilize transport call systems to coordinate services efficiently. 4. Manage calls for stat orders and direct them to appropriate departments. 5. Address patient needs promptly by responding to call lights and notifying nurses. 6. Facilitate follow-up appointments and coordinate tests and procedures upon discharge. 7. Patient Records Management: 8. Accurately enter physician orders and prioritize them accordingly. 9. Process and schedule daily labs, diagnostic tests, and procedures. 10. Regularly check patient charts for new orders and transcribe as necessary. 11. Ensure all orders are signed off with the correct documentation. 12. Unit Operations: 13. Maintain organized filing of forms and reports in patient charts. 14. Safeguard patient information and restrict access appropriately. 15. Continuously enhance knowledge and skills relevant to the assigned area. 16. Keep personal documentation updated regarding in-service attendance. 17. Continuing Education & Development: 18. Maintain adequate supplies for patient care and clerical needs. 19. Document and report any equipment maintenance requirements. 20. Actively participate in emergency response situations. 21. Manage document distribution, including faxing and duplicating materials.
Qualifications
Experience Requirements: - Minimum Required: 3 months of clerical experience (preferably in a medical setting) - Preferred/Desired: Over one year of clerical experience, including transcription of orders Education Requirements: - Minimum Required: High school diploma or equivalent, with office practice courses
