Job Summary
Answer switchboard console for assigned facility and staff the Information Desk. Welcome patients and visitors and assist to appropriate destination.



Qualifications



Key Responsibilities



  • Phone calls are answered to meet established targets.

  • Patients are assisted in making telephone calls as requested.

  • Pages and announcements are completed in accordance with established standards.

  • Phone logs are maintained according to established guidelines.

  • Notification and reporting of hospital emergencies are carried out per established policies.

  • On Call personnel are contacted after hours per established guidelines.

  • Security is contacted as needed and per established guidelines.

  • Patients and visitors are welcomed and assisted to appropriate destination.

  • Additional department, organization, or network activities are completed per established objectives.

  • PCC Organizational Values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence are upheld.






Qualifications and Experience




Education/Degree



Required


  • High School Graduate of equivalent required




Skills



Required:


  • Knowledge of switchboard practices, paging procedures and equipment.

  • Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software.

  • Effective verbal, electronic and written communications skills using the English language.

  • Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse population.

  • Work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team.

  • Anticipates challenges and develops and implements strategies for addressing them.

  • High level of service delivery. Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations.
