Job Summary
This position reports directly to Dr. Amar Dhand, Principal Investigator at the Dhand Lab and advisor on the "Buffering, Porosity, and Brain Health in Uganda" project. The research student position also reports to Principal Investigator on the project (Dr. Cyrus Olsen III), Vrushali Dhongade, and all supporting staff (HR, payroll, etc). The position will require between 5-15 hours per week depending on study timelines, workflow and tasks assigned to the student.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The research student will work closely with the Research Assistant helping with all day-to-day study related tasks. Clerical and administrative work will be the regular day-to-day responsibility of the research student (sending emails, creating meeting invites, etc). There will also be special projects to supplement the day-to-day work that can/may include assisting with financial reimbursements for the Templeton Grant, assisting with progress report submission to the Templeton Foundation, updating the project's website, creating a weekly newsletter, and data entry of the participants of the project.



Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS: - Excellent interpersonal skills. - Excellent oral and written communication. - Strong interest in philosophy and its intersection with neuroscience. SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: - Strong team player and can communicate well within an interdisciplinary team. - High level of organizational skills with strong attention to detail. - Ability to follow directions, institutional and protocol requirements. - Excellent time management skills. WORKING CONDITIONS: - Normal laboratory environment.
