Job Summary
What you will do:
- Conducts equipment system warm-up and quality assurance procedures according to established guidelines to ensure a safe and effective equipment operation
- Correctly interprets exam requests making sure history conforms to exam requested
- Positions and instructs patients regarding the procedures. Must be cognizant of patient's condition at all times
- Selects proper exposure factors for procedure
- Arranges, attaches or adjusts immobilization and supportive devices to obtain the desired radiographic positions and to prevent patients from moving and lessen patients' discomfort
- Adjusts lead shield(s) and collimates to protect unaffected parts of the body from exposure to radiation. Directs personnel to safe area before exposure
- Take diagnostic quality radiographs while minimizing dose to patient and technologist through ALARA program
- Process radiographs, ensuring proper patient positioning, exposure, collimation, laterality labeling and archival to PACS system
- Enter radiographic exams correctly into RIS system
- Uses Epic work queue to schedule all imaging orders provider has done and obtain prior authorization if needed
- Keep all log books up-to-date
- Manage program for dosimeters for facility
- Special projects assigned by CMO



Qualifications


What you will need:


1. Must be a registered radiologic technologist with current licensure in Massachusetts and ARRT certification.


2. Must keep licensure up-to-date, past medical experience preferred (i.e. A.S.C.P., CAN, or HHA)
