Dispatcher
Position Summary
The Dispatcher performs all duties relative to dispatch of field personnel, customer inquiries, requests and complaints received in person, by telephone, or by mail. The Dispatcher is responsible for fleet and accident coordination on all TWC vehicles and equipment.
Specific Responsibilities
Respond to customer calls, prepare investigations and work orders, and solve customer complaints.
Interprets criticality of emergencies, makes decisions with minimum supervision, and communicates directly with first responders, supervisors, and personnel. Prioritizes problems according to severity.
Dispatches on-call and on-duty personnel as necessary to address problems.
Coordinates emergency and routine utility line locates and communicates with other agencies.
Prepares and assigns work orders related to maintenance and water quality.
Performs all phases of data entry work, including updating, sorting, and closing service orders.
Generates and tracks the status of permits related to contractor maintenance repairs.
Sends customer notifications via appropriate Reverse 911 platforms (e.g., Message 911, Everbridge/Rave Mobility, VxSmart, etc.)
Communicates weekly on-call schedule to appropriate staff.
Maintains Fleet Database to track registration renewals, inspections, GPS tracking, and company drivers
Files and coordinates vehicle/equipment insurance claims
Coordinates GPS tracking installation & monitoring services
Prepare reports as required.
Perform all duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to learn Production and Distribution systems.
Ability to learn mapping systems.
Ability to deal courteously and professionally with others, as this position requires constant interaction with Customer Service, Operations, Distribution and Maintenance personnel, and management.
Knowledge of office procedures relating to Customer Service.
Ability to interface with the public.
Required Education and Experience
Requirements include a high school/GED diploma
Ability to utilize a personal computer and current applications of database management and customer information system
A valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
