The Department of Pharmacy & Therapeutics of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy is seeking a highly motivated individual for a tenure-track assistant professor/associate professor/professor position. The ideal candidate will have research experience in one or more of the following areas: outcomes research; population health; pharmacoepidemiology; health economics; health outcomes; data science; and predictive analytics. Priority will be given to candidates with a proven track record of competitive extramural funding. Candidates must have a PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent with postdoctoral training experience with a degree in public health, healthcare outcomes, pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical sciences, or a related field.

The successful applicant is expected to establish an independent pharmaceutical outcomes research program, which will be sustained by extramural funding. In addition to research, applicants are also expected to teach in professional, graduate, and competency-based training programs, including classroom and online teaching as well as precepting/mentoring students and other trainees. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications:

• Hold a PhD, MD, or Doctor of Pharmacy (or equivalent terminal degree) with postdoctoral training experience with strong academic credentials and have a distinguished record of research, teaching, and service sufficient to be appointed as a tenure-stream Assistant Professor or Associate Professor or Professor at the University of Pittsburgh.

• Expertise in one or more of the following areas: outcomes research; population health; pharmacoepidemiology; health economics; health outcomes; data science; and predictive analytics.

• Commitment to teaching in the curricular programs of the school and responsibility for mentoring students and post-graduate learners.

• Have a deep commitment to developing meaningful collaborations with other researchers within the School of Pharmacy, the Schools of Medicine, Public Health, and other schools and organizations.

• Demonstrated commitment to our school’s values of professionalism, integrity, teamwork, trust, passion, health equity, accountability, responsibility, and mutual respect.

Preferred Qualifications:

• An outstanding track record of expertise as shown by extramural funding, publications, mentoring, engagement, and leadership in pharmacy, outcomes research or other related field (candidates with other backgrounds and experiences will be considered).

• A strong background of development and oversight of educational programs to train the next generation of scientists, pharmacists, and/or other healthcare research professionals.

• A consistent record of highly competitive extramural research funding.

• Proven success in mentoring and training junior faculty members to support success including competitive funding and promotion.

• Demonstrated success in leading groups through delegation, communication, and accountability for academic and scientific achievement.

• Extensive experience in creating a collaborative, positive, and productive work environment for all faculty, staff, trainees, and partners

The Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics is home to the Grace Lamsam Pharmacy Program for the Underserved, Community Leadership and Innovation in Practice, Program Evaluation Research Unit, and Pharmacogenomics Center of Excellence. In partnership with UPMC, the department is home to twelve accredited residency programs, plus twelve pharmacy fellowship training programs.
