Job Summary:

Manage supplier relationships for Resource Industries Supply Management (RISM) Hydraulics category to deliver year over year Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, Management (QCLDM) performance improvement. Manages the relationship between Caterpillar and suppliers, and interfaces with product/component engineers for commercial discussions/negotiations with suppliers. Provides purchasing solutions expertise to deliver maximum value.

What You Will Do:

• Developing, managing and executing the category strategy managing policies, agreements, source catalogs, and special procurement programs.
• Recognizing the potential for cost decreases, inventory reductions and quality improvement, as well as responsibility for soundness of business proposals and risk assessment.
• Acting as the liaison between the organization and the supplier to communicate information explicitly, while considering production demands and suppliers' conditions.
• Documenting the suppliers' performance on time sensitiveness and production; maintains a strong relationship with suppliers.

Strategic Sourcing:
• Participates in monitoring the execution for all stages of the strategic sourcing process.
• Trains others on strategic sourcing in multiple and diverse environments.
• Designs and develops standard supplier agreements and procurement policies with standardized terms and conditions.
• Works with complex strategic sourcing components including but not limited to negotiations, contracting, and continuous process improvement and implementation.
• Consults on strategic sourcing methods in relation to business relationships, inter-dependencies and integration.
• Develops and explains strategic sourcing best practices and rationale for the organization and industry.

Top Candidates Will Also Have :
• Hydraulics component and system experience
• Understanding of governmental, environmental, political, and geographic factors that influence a supply base
• Experience with lean manufacturing, an understanding of lean principles

Additional Information

The location for this position is Mossville, IL. Alternate locations will be considered for well qualified candidates.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Any relocation costs incurred would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

This position may require up to 25% travel.

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00
