Position focuses on leading and supporting projects within the KCNA Distribution Process Support Team with focus on the reliability and continuous improvement of implemented automation solutions. This role will support the lifecycle management of automation investments by ensuring automation, including AGVs, maintain productivity and uptime targets. The role will also partner with automation original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to drive continuous improvement opportunities, including optimizing maintenance, to achieve overall automation reliability. This position will also likely be involved with new project deployments. Specific projects are supported individually or by providing leadership and participation on focused cross-discipline teams.



Customers: K-C and Third Party Logistics (3PL) - operated facilities with implemented AGV automation, Staff Automation and Automation Project Teams, Internal and External Vendors, including automation OEMs, Procurement, KC Manufacturing teams.



In this role, you will:



  • Provide ongoing leadership of continuous improvement and lifecycle management of implemented AGV systems within the mill and distribution center network.

  • Continuous improvement scope includes maintaining & improving overall AGV uptime and throughput performance, including but not limited to: AGV maintenance program, AGV battery and charging management, traffic flow and mapping maintenance and providing software-related support as needed.

  • Identify AGV performance and standardization opportunities across the network and work with site and staff automation team members to optimize AGV efficiency.

  • Serve as key liaison for AGV OEMs, staff automation and onsite resources for mills and third party-operated warehouses to assess automation and process problems, shortcomings, and implementation of corrective actions.

  • Develop a scope and depth of knowledge in safety, quality, and materials handling/warehousing technical expertise to investigate and drive continuous improvement and innovative solutions.

  • Support cost improvement and capability building programs to facilitate the achievement of supply chain cost objectives.

  • Lead or participate in cross functional project teams made up of diverse team members ranging from senior leaders to machine or lift operators.

  • Create/support site level management systems for assessing overall AGV reliability and efficiency.

  • Bachelor's or technical degree in engineering (electrical or mechanical preferred) or technical supply chain disciplines

  • 5+ years supply-chain experience, preferably with AGV/automation or warehousing/manufacturing operations

  • Experience working with equipment OEM; Warehouse systems (WMS) and warehouse layout (CAD) prior experience

  • Ability to lead troubleshooting / problem solving to identify root causes and/or areas of continuous improvement

  • Demonstrated ability to apply lean principles for driving continuous improvement

  • Travel expectations up to 50% within North America facilities

Salary Range: $106,000 - $131,000 USD




Total rewards at Kimberly-Clark include pay and a full benefits package. The anticipated base pay range for this job is listed above, and this position may also be eligible for a target bonus opportunity of a percentage of the base pay. Individual base pay levels will be based on multiple factors including, but are not limited to, location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
