This Postdoctoral position is for conducting research on the apoptotic pathway in neurons. In particular, to examine how the key events during apoptosis (e.g. cJun phosphorylation, BH3 protein induction, Bax activation, mitochondrial permeabilization, and caspase activation) are regulated in the model of sympathetic neurons undergoing apoptosis after NGF deprivation. This position will also contribute to our ongoing project on identifying the function of miR-29 in the maturing brain in mouse models as well as to help in writing any grant proposals on these topics.
PhD
Experience of working with primary mouse neurons in culture. Standard molecular and cell biological expertise. Experience in working with mouse models.
Knowledge and experience of working on the apoptotic pathway in neurons. Experience in conducting in vivo mouse experiments. Basic computations skills for conducting RNA seq analysis.
