Job Description Summary
The Division of Precision and Computational Diagnostics in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania seeks an individual with training in molecular genetic pathology or equivalent for a position as a Penn Medicine Clinician. The ideal candidate will have broad clinical experience in personalized diagnostics with aptitude for review and interpretation of DNA and RNA-based molecular and genomic assays including massively parallel sequencing and targeted molecular pathology assays. Experience with somatic and constitutional variant interpretation is essential. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent training in molecular genetic pathology or clinical genetics and genomics. Eligibility or certification by the American Board of Pathology in Molecular Genetic Pathology or the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (in either Laboratory Genetics and Genomics or Clinical Molecular Genetics and Clinical Cytogenetics) is a requirement for this position. The position requires extensive commitment to quality in clinical service and education in a CAP/CLIA environment. The appointment is for a year, renewable for up to three years, and the position is available for a July 1, 2024 start date.
