The Marketing Specialist develops and maintains all marketing and communication programs and projects designed to effectively promote the programs and services of the department. The incumbent for this position delegates and supervises the work performed by student staff, vendors, and contractors, as well as assesses the results of all marketing efforts. An employee in this position serves as "editor in chief" for all internal and external communications, and oversees the development and production of all external publications and collateral materials.
SPECIFIC DUTIES RELATED TO THE COLLEGE OF A&S:
Responsible for developing, implementing, and evolving the College's marketing strategy.
Develop a marketing plan to meet enrollment objectives for programs in the College of Arts & Sciences.
Lead social media reporting and analysis.
Plan and manage projects, events, and campaigns to promote programs the programs of the College across a variety of media channels.
Conduct market data analysis - including identifying core audiences, monitoring and analyzing data reports, and implementing solutions to maximize impact.
Research the program's outreach and messaging by conducting focus groups, surveys, and other auditing/research methods.
Respond to questions, comments, or complaints posted on social media accounts.
Create plans for outreach and awareness of the College to the greater community, including prospective and current students, alumni, etc.
Establish relationships with local businesses, NGOs, and government entities to provide internship experiences for professional master's degree students.
Work in conjunction with the supervisor to implement annual advertising plans to serve the needs of programs, new initiatives, and enrollment objectives. This includes advertising in print, out of home, TV, radio, and digital, including social media.
Implement email marketing campaigns.
Work on a range of digital initiatives including digital signs and marketing landing pages.
Lead planning for marketing events and provide marketing support for events that other departments are hosting.
Plan strategy and timeline for marketing events, prepare budget and payment if applicable, develop a marketing and communications plan for awareness and publicity, and staff events.
Some travel may be required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.

Thorough knowledge of concepts, methods, procedures and techniques of marketing work as applied to the marketing programs of the College; of the tools, equipment and materials used in the trade; of appropriate sources of marketing data and their use.
Ability to develop and implement effective marketing programs, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, establish and maintain affirmative working relationships with others encountered in the work.
Ability to work independently and in a team, manage multiple projects, and supervise others.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships with NGOs and businesses to provide internship and externship experiences for students.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, social media software, and email marketing software.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, website content management systems, Google analytics, SEO, SEM and social analytics software.
Ability to write and edit for print and digital with a high attention to detail.
Ability to work on tight deadlines under pressure.
Knowledge of planning and implementation of market research techniques including focus groups and surveys.
