Job Summary
A Maintenance Tech repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic conveying systems, and production machines.
Job Responsibilities
Change molds and inserts in machines as required for production needs.
Install, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair equipment, electrical components and special purpose machines as assigned
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary
Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, fabricate, change parts and complete tasks as assigned
Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly
Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
Ability to think independently while successfully functioning in a team environment, with a proven track record of contributing toward team goals
Job Requirements
At least 2 years of maintenance/electrician experience working in a manufacturing environment, plastic injection molding preferred.
Working knowledge of basic safety programs, particularly lock-out/tag-out procedures, as well as principles of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, welding and mechanics
Safety-conscious
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, dependable, proven work ethic
The job involves the following physical demands: walking, climbing stairs/ladders, standing, climbing, bending, stretching, using hands and fingers to hold, grasp, push, and lift items
Lifting requirements is up to 40 pounds
Working at heights above 4 feet (on ladders and/or platforms) is common
Environmental conditions involve generally indoor work, but frequently working around very hot equipment and in tight spaces (not confined)
Job responsibilities involve frequent exposure to oil and grease
