Overview:

Support and learn about cybersecurity. You will work with our Security team to STIG machines, run security scans, analysis the outcomes, and assist with RMF assessment. This internship will give you a broad understanding of what happens to make sure that hardware and software is securely developed.

Responsibilities:

- STIGing devices (Hardware and Software)
- Run security scans, analysis the results, give and recommendations
- Documenting HW and SW for product cyber packages
- RMF control assessment
- Conducting cyber security analyses of HW/SW components

Qualifications:

- Working on a Bachelors in Information Management with an emphasis on Cybersecurity
- Basic familiarity with Windows and preferably Linux OSs
- Comfortability with command line and SSH
- Familiarity with networking concepts like the ISO model, packet flow and basic network protocols
- Familiarity with Excel (especially the use of formulas and functions like VLOOKUP)

Desired Skills:

- STIGing devices (Switches, Windows and RHEL workstations, servers)
- STIGing software (creating a STIG’ed baseline image of common components like PostgresDB that are used in GaN products)
- Running automated STIG scans using SCAP or Nessus
- Documenting HW and SW for product cyber packages (HW/SW list, PPS list, network diagram)
- Loading STIG results as bugs in GitLab
- RMF control assessment (with assistance)
- Conducting cyber security analyses of HW/SW components following the procedure I put together

Special Requirements:

- Must be a US Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Must have a Secret clearance or be capable of obtaining an interim Secret clearance
