Work shift: 2nd shift. Pay will depend on experience.


This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.



Job Description:



General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. Must be willing to set up, adjust and break down production line machinery. Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system. Must have good verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate with other Team Members, producers, USDA personnel and drivers. Must be able to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc. Must be willing to lift 70 lbs. periodically throughout the shift on a daily basis and be willing to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours. Must be willing to complete all required training for the job.



Job Requirements:



Must have a minimum of (1) year of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program (can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 1 year). Experience or certification should include knowledge in industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronics, plumbing and welding. Knowledge in the operation of PLC's is a plus. Strong electronic skill set is a must.


The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 125 pounds. If the task is deemed to exceed the individual's ability, assistance from another person(s) and/or equipment will be used. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Be able to work long hours, climb stairs and ladders, and tow a water hose.

  • 3 x Rule: If you have worked for Tyson Foods 3 or more times you are ineligible for rehire.

  • Rehire waiting period: 185 days
