Job Description:

Position Overview

As a Fulfillment Data Engineer you will be responsible for the design, build, validation, and delivery of LightBox data solutions for LightBox customers. LightBox data solutions are created using LightBox data platforms and industry standard GIS and data transformation/enrichment tool sets. LightBox data solutions provide property insights to lending, insurance, real estate, environmental, and government sectors.

What you will do and achieve

• Fulfill LightBox contracted data deliveries to a large portfolio of LightBox data clients.

• Develop an in-depth understanding of LightBox data assets and infrastructure.

• Utilize T-SQL, ArcGIS, and other open-source GIS software to transform, enrich, and extend LightBox data assets for delivery to the end customer.  

• Assist senior staff in the design and creation of ETL tool and workflow modifications.

• Become the subject matter expert on data delivery methods and capabilities.

Who you are

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, or similar discipline.

Experience

• 2-5 years’ experience as a GIS analyst, data engineer, or data Analyst. (Qualified college grads considered)

Key Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and processes.

• Fundamental knowledge in GIS, Geospatial concepts, MS SQL, Python, ETL and relational data.

• Scripting experience.

• Concise communicator with the ability to document workflows.

Other Desirable Attributes

• 2+ years’ experience in database design, data manipulation and/or a software engineering role using SQL Server or similar RDBMS environments, including stored procedures, views, and ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load).

• Experience developing complex SQL queries in order to generate data sets for our visualization team and customers.

• Drive to ensure data quality throughout all stages of acquisition and processing, including data sourcing/collection, normalization, and transformation.

• Experience utilizing Python modules, packages, and libraries.

• Familiarity with open-source libraries such as GDAL and OGR.

• GIS Certification.
