Position Overview
We are seeking a Food Safety, QA / QC manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the food safety, quality assurance, quality control and other related functions at our SQF Certified establishment, ensuring that all regulatory compliance requirements are met. Among other responsibilities you will manage and maintain vendor approval programs and documents, collaborate with vendors regarding quality noncompliance, lead GFSI and other regulatory audits, manage and maintain all aspects of the companies' GFSI certification and ensure our operations adhere to the highest industry standards for quality and safety.
The ideal candidate will be a technical leader with experience in food safety and GFSI regulations, vendor management, and quality assurance systems.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement programs to ensure compliance with corporate quality standards, SQF certification, labeling requirements, and other domestic and international industry regulations.
Ensure consistent adherence to quality standards, including GMPs CCPs, SOPs and other food safety protocols.
Work closely with Production to ensure all quality control measures are in place and maintain regular communication on quality performance.
Monitor and track compliance with established standards and identify areas for improvement.
Design and maintain record-keeping systems that align with corporate, customer, and regulatory requirements, including the management and upkeep of vendor approval documents.
Oversee plant HACCP, sanitation, pest control and other required programs to ensure all equipment and facilities meet GFSI standards.
Review and assess all purchased products and components, providing recommendations for acceptance or rejection.
Regularly meet and report to senior management on requirements and non compliance.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
3+ years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or related industry.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
HACCP certification.
FSPCA certification.
SQF Practitioner or other GFSI certification.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred:
Bilingual in Spanish.
Previous experience with vendor approval document management and compliance.
