SSHO/Superintendent Position Overview The SSHO/Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the safe execution of DOD construction projects while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. This position is representing the Prime Contractor and involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing safety protocols, and leading a team to achieve project objectives efficiently and effectively. Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1 standards and all safety regulations on job sites.
Lead and supervise construction teams to ensure project milestones are met on time.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
Develop and implement project safety plans and training programs for staff and subcontractors.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project specifications are met.
Maintain accurate records of safety meetings, incidents, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications
10+ years of relevant construction experience (5+ years of safety management)
Proven experience as a dual hat SSHO/Superintendent on multiple projects exceeding $10M
EM 385-1-1 40 hour cert
OSHA 30
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Preferred certifications: CSP (Certified Safety Professional) and CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician).
Experience working on Federal or DoD projects is a plus.
