About the Role:
GridMatrix is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to collaborate closely with our
perception, data science, and UI engineering teams to refine and optimize our data pipeline and
cloud infrastructure. This role involves hands-on deployment of customer pipelines, overseeing
architecture for optimal cost and performance, and assessing the impact of new features to
drive company goals. This role is ideal for a proactive engineer passionate about real-time
machine learning, efficient cloud solutions, and end-to-end architecture management.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, deploy, and manage data pipelines tailored to meet customer requirements.
Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost efficiency, scalability, and performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and measure new features within the cloud and data pipeline environment.
Implement robust and secure data storage solutions, balancing edge and cloud
resources.
Manage secondary cloud storage providers for archival storage solutions.
Ensure cloud services are aligned with enterprise standards and best practices for availability and resilience.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Real-Time Machine Learning Solutions: Demonstrated experience with building real-time machine learning applications, ideally within AWS.
Cloud Infrastructure Management: 4-6 years of experience in a cloud engineering role, with hands-on AWS and enterprise cloud experience.
Edge and Cloud Storage: Knowledge of hybrid cloud storage solutions to balance latency and accessibility requirements.
Secondary Cloud Providers: Proficiency in configuring secondary cloud providers for long-term, archival storage.
Database Proficiency: Strong understanding of database technologies, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Cassandra, as well as caching mechanisms to optimize data retrieval.
Containerization and Orchestration: Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
Project Management Skills:
Bias for Action: Takes initiative and exhibits a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Deadline-Oriented: Demonstrates a commitment to meeting project timelines and delivering quality results on schedule.
Communication & Reporting: Strong skills in documenting and reporting project status and milestones to stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
Educational Background: BA/BS in an analytical discipline. MS in mathematics, computer science, data science, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
Experience Areas: 4-6 years of experience in cloud engineering, with experience in industries such as IoT, quantitative finance, ad-sales analytics, payments processing, or related fields.
