Unfold AI is a multi-modal AI platform that combines a patient's diagnostic data together (from EHR, PACS, and other healthcare systems) to create an interactive 3D map of the patient's cancer, enabling more precise and personalized treatment. These maps have been validated in recent clinical studies to significantly improve patient care and cancer treatment outcomes.
Unfold AI represents a generational leap in cancer treatment, but we need your help to bring it to everyone. Specifically, we need your help to design and build end-to-end features into Unfold AI. Are you up for the challenge to shape the future of cancer care?
What you will do:
Own Projects - Design and build new features for backend services and APIs using Python and Go to power Unfold AI.
Build Robust Testing - Build automated testing for backend services to validate the performance and reliability of Unfold AI.
Bring Doctors and Patients Joy - Optimize performance for backend services to provide doctors with quick results.
Enforce Standards - Ensure and document compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and security standards (HIPAA, SOC2, etc.).
What you will bring:
Experience:
7+ years of experience in backend software development.
You have designed, implemented, and maintained backend services in a cloud application.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
Skills:
Backend Programming Expertise - Proficiency in Python and Go or equivalent. (Experience with PyTorch, SciPy, scikit-learn, and NumPy is a plus)
Database Design and Management - Deep understanding of database architecture. We use MySQL and DynamoDB.
Cloud Platforms - Expertise in building scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS or equivalent.
Testing Frameworks - You have experience with unit, integration, and load testing tools.
Technical Writing - You can write detailed specifications and clear technical documentation.
Professional Communication - You know how to collaborate with engineers and communicate with stakeholders.
System observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog) for monitoring, logging, and alerting.
Automated deployment and configuration tools for integration frameworks (e.g. Gitlab Pipelines, Jenkins, Github Actions, etc.).
Security standards and best practices (e.g. SOC2, ISO-27001).
Familiarity with medical imaging (MRI + Ultrasound) and hands-on experience with AI algorithms integration is a plus.
Experience in medical device development or a regulated field is preferred.

What we offer in return:
Salary compensation in the range $160,000-$190,000 and equity compensation in the range 0.1-0.25%.
