Summary: Responsible for maintaining quality standards by inspecting components and finished instruments using a variety of inspection equipment to verify conformance with work orders, drawings and specifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs first article, in-process and final inspections to verify conformance of components, processes and procedures.
Utilizes appropriate inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, gages, optical comparators, electronic gaging and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Visually inspects components, coatings, and finishes comparing to standards.
Evaluates function and aesthetics on completed surgical instruments during final inspections.
Reviews and interprets work orders, drawings and specifications.
Appropriately determines acceptance or rejection status.
Accurately records inspection data per requirements.
Effectively notifies appropriate personnel of inspection results, production issues or recommendations.
Performs calibrations on inspection equipment.
Performs other production assignments as necessary.
Maintains a professional working relationship and effectively communicates with all employees, managers, vendors, customers and regulatory agencies.
Understands and complies with company policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and safety regulations.
Regular attendance at work is required.
Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); one year or more of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
