Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Components Engineer to join our team in Orlando, FL. This contract position requires the contractor to work onsite. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive engineering support, focusing on component selection analysis for new designs and resolving potential Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues. You will lead efforts in obsolescence management, standardization, engineering data definition, part standards preparation, and procurement control. Additional responsibilities include quality problem resolution, process improvements, and serving as the liaison between vendors, procurement, customers, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide components engineering support for new design and DMSMS issue resolution.
Resolve obsolescence issues, counterfeit part avoidance, part substitution, and second-source part qualification.
Generate customer reports and part procurement specifications.
Lead efforts to ensure electronic components meet qualification standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve component-related development and production problems.
Work with vendors, procurement, LM customers, and subcontractors to ensure proper part management.
Required Experience:
6+ years of experience in electrical component manufacturing processes and physical property analysis.
6+ years of experience in Components Engineering, with a deep understanding of electronic components and devices (integrated circuits or discrete components).
6+ years of experience with new component releases and qualification processes.
Desired Skills:
Experience with DMSMS (Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages).
Knowledge of component-related failure issues, pure tin issues, and counterfeit part detection.
Experience in generating part management plan specifications to ensure the qualification of electronic components.
Leadership experience in evaluating electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical components for electronic assemblies.
