Job Description:

Job Title: Data Center Engineer

Location: 3400 Terminal Dr, Vandalia, OH 45377 (Onsite)

Duration: 6 months

Overview:

As part of a high-performing IT infrastructure team, this position focuses on supporting the digital backbone of a reliable and profitable airline. The role involves designing, maintaining, and optimizing the IT infrastructure that drives business-critical operations.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management:

• Develop and implement server, network, and storage solutions.
• Perform routine maintenance and updates.
• Monitor data center physical access and oversee vendor services.

Technical Troubleshooting:

• Handle advanced technical escalations (L3 support).
• Respond to hardware, network, and software emergencies.

Security & Compliance:

• Implement security measures to protect against cyber threats.
• Conduct compliance audits (FM Global, PCI/PII).

Collaboration & Communication:

• Coordinate with IT teams and external vendors for seamless operations.
• Provide end-user support and training.

Documentation & Process Optimization:

• Maintain updated records for hardware, incidents, and audits.
• Assist in scaling data center resources based on evolving needs.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on IT experience resolving hardware and software issues.
• Familiarity with ITSM workflows and ticketing systems.

Skills & Traits:

• Strong communication (verbal & written).
• Excellent customer service and ability to work collaboratively or independently.
• Physical ability to lift 35 lbs and travel/work flexible shifts.

Technical Proficiency:

• Knowledge of network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Experience with hardware installation and firmware updates.
